About Us

N & K Marine was purchased in August of 2000 by Sandy and J.R. Mitter as a family business. 

J.R. has been in the marine business for 45 years and has worked in all aspects.

Sandy graduated from Michigan State University and helps with the accounting for the business.

N & K Marine was named after Sandy and J.R.'s children, Nicholas and Kelcie.

Nicholas graduated from Michigan State in May of 2017 and in August of 2022 Nicholas purchased the marina from J.R. and Sandy. J.R. has since retired but still helps where needed and Sandy helps during storage time at the front desk. 

In December of 2022 Nicholas got married to his wife Jaclynn and in March of 2024 they had their first child, Ivy Mitter.

Kelcie helps with advertising for the business and works full time as a 2nd grade teacher in Brighton.
